This is the summer camp for Greater Pittsburgh Council. Camp Liberty is one of the two Boy Scout camps; Camp Freedom is the other, while Camp Independence is the Cub Scout camp. Liberty is the only camp without a dining hall, making it a primary patrol cooking camp. It contains thirteen camp sites, and can accomidate upto 450 campers, along with a staff of around 40 scouters. Being on a penninsula, only three camp sites (Bunker Hill, Williamsburg, and Prospect Hill) do not have their own shoreline. This patch was adopted in the mid-80s, after the camp had been in operation for a few years (1980 was the year Heritage opened). The Heritage acorn has the letters HR replaced by the Liberty Bell, the Camps symbol. The flaw in this patch is the border. Red is the color denoting Camp Freedom, whereas Libertys assigned color is green.
